Role Overview
We are seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to join our agile teams in creating mission-critical software for U.S. defense applications. The engineer will be instrumental in building, delivering, and securing software deployed across various platforms, supporting information exchange between warfighters.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with skilled software engineers to develop next-generation embedded applications ranging from kernel-level components to user interfaces.
- Participate actively in the entire Software Development Life Cycle across multiple projects.
- Support functional and operational software testing activities.
- Provide input on system and network architectures and configurations.
- Contribute to refining corporate software development methodologies and best practices.
- Engage with the team in sprint planning, code reviews, daily scrums, and design processes.
- Assist in project planning and proposal development.
- Implement high-level designs into reliable, maintainable software solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve software defects and issues.
- Maintain up-to-date system documentation including system descriptions and test reports.
- Review code and guide peers during ongoing code review sessions.
- Implement security measures across system components.
- Coordinate closely with Project Management to maintain sprint schedules and development milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
- Experience, academic or practical, with at least one strongly typed programming language such as C, C++, Java, C#, Rust, Go, or Zig.
- Understanding of software design patterns.
- U.S. citizenship with eligibility to obtain a U.S. SECRET security clearance.
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity with networking protocols and Linux DevOps workflows, including experience writing Python or Bash scripts for deployment automation and automated testing using GitLab.
- Previous involvement in agile development environments with usage of version control, test-driven development, and continuous integration.
- Experience with software build tools like npm, conan, or maven.
- Exposure to web development technologies such as React, Postgres, API development, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000. Fuse Integration offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
