Role Overview
The Academic Dean will collaborate closely with campus administration to design and refine academic programming, fostering a culture of educational excellence and effective practices. This leadership position involves developing strategies alongside campus leaders to reach both academic and social-emotional learning (SEL) objectives across the school community. Additionally, the role entails clear communication of the school's vision and mission to staff, students, and parents.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree.
- Must hold a Principal's Certification.
Key Skills & Knowledge
- Expertise in organizing and managing campus curriculum initiatives.
- Proficiency in data interpretation for instructional purposes.
- Capability to deliver targeted and ongoing professional development for educators.
- Experience managing grant report requirements.
- Strong background in curriculum design, instructional methods, and assessment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience
A minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience is required, with supervisory or leadership experience being preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement systems to track and support student achievement across all grades.
- Enhance instructional quality through differentiated curriculum approaches.
- Design and execute ongoing evaluations of academic programs and adjust strategies based on performance data.
- Provide resources and support to faculty to meet program goals effectively.
- Offer intervention strategies for individuals and small groups needing additional support.
- Lead continuous professional development initiatives for teaching staff.
- Conduct action research to identify challenges, propose plans, establish research frameworks, and assess outcomes to improve teaching practices.
- Gather, process, and analyze educational data to inform instruction and meet compliance with federal, state, and local educational policies.
- Deliver in-house professional growth opportunities for teachers.
- Support alignment with the district's mission, vision, and core values.
- Adhere to and promote school board policies relevant to this role.
- Manage district resources effectively to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Contribute to district-wide success plans and participate in professional growth efforts.
- Exemplify professional integrity, strong work ethic, and serve as a positive role model for students.
- Assist in overseeing faculty and student supervision duties as necessary.
Working Environment
Must maintain composure and emotional control in stressful or high-pressure situations. The role may involve irregular or extended working hours depending on administrative demands.
