Role overview
The Airfreight Export Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing all air export shipments across the Canada region. This is a remote position.
Core responsibilities
- Record export shipments in the company system and keep their status updated on a regular basis.
- Handle day-to-day export shipment coordination and documentation with overseas partners and local Canadian third parties, making sure deadlines are met whenever required.
- Work closely with global internal offices, overseas agents, and service providers to identify the most suitable solution for client needs while maintaining the company’s business standards.
- Prepare airline messaging and generate HAWB/MAWB documents for air export shipments using CargoWise EDI.
- Check, analyze, and process accounts payable for each shipment in a timely manner.
- Look for opportunities to reduce costs and improve revenue while still meeting customer requirements.

- Proactively inform customers and agents about shipment issues or delays.
- Take ownership of month-end closing for assigned shipments.
- Perform root-cause analysis to support KPI targets and suggest improvements to existing processes.
- Deliver prompt and high-quality customer service under the guidance of the department manager.
- Prepare costing and quotations for agents and clients when extra services are requested.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in airfreight operations and freight forwarding.
- At least 1 year of Canadian work experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Incoterms and shipping documentation.
- Familiarity with CargoWise is considered an advantage.
- Ability to communicate in a second language is an added benefit.
