Bartender

Role overview

The bartender will be based in Doha, Qatar and will join the Food & Beverage team. The role focuses on preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, creating a welcoming guest experience, and keeping the bar area tidy, well-stocked, and running smoothly.

Core duties

• Prepare drinks by following standard recipes, correct portions, and presentation requirements for cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Greet guests professionally, take food and beverage orders, answer menu-related questions, suggest suitable drinks, and build friendly relationships with returning customers.
• Arrange the bar before service and restore it after service, including cleaning and sanitizing glassware, wiping surfaces, and organizing garnishes, ice, and mixers.
• Handle payments through the POS system, accept cash, card, and mobile transactions, split bills accurately, and reconcile the cash drawer at the end of the shift.
• Track stock levels for liquor, beer, wine, and bar supplies, replenish items during service, and notify management when inventory runs low.
• Serve alcohol responsibly by verifying guest age where required, observing signs of intoxication, and stopping service when appropriate for safety and compliance.

Experience and expertise

Applicants should have prior work experience as a bartender or barback/apprentice in a busy hospitality setting. A valid certification in mixology, bartending, or wine service is required. Strong working knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine is important, along with confidence using POS systems and performing basic numerical calculations.

Physical demands

The job requires stamina for long periods of standing and walking, the ability to work quickly in confined spaces, and the strength to move heavy items such as ice buckets and kegs weighing up to 50 lbs.
