The waiter will deliver a polished, refined dining experience for guests in a luxury restaurant setting. The role calls for strong food and beverage knowledge, impeccable service standards, and the ability to sense guest needs ahead of time so service feels seamless and highly attentive.

Core responsibilities

Provide table service with precision and elegance, following formal fine-dining service methods. Keep a strong command of the menu and beverage list, including ingredients, preparation styles, culinary background, allergens, and suitable wine or cocktail matches. Read each table and adapt the pace and style of service to suit the occasion, whether it is a celebration or a business meal. Offer clear menu guidance, describe chef tasting options, and recommend premium pairings, aperitifs, and digestifs to elevate the guest experience. Work closely with the kitchen team to relay special dietary needs, timing requests, and order adjustments. Ensure silverware, glassware, and tableware are spotless and arranged to exact standards before and during service.

Additional role expectations

This position requires confident, synchronized service such as serving and clearing from the correct side, pouring beverages accurately, and delivering courses to the table in perfect coordination. It also includes discreet guest care, such as replacing items quickly and maintaining a pristine table throughout the meal.

Skills, knowledge, and experience

The ideal candidate should have prior experience in an upscale, fine-dining, or Michelin-starred restaurant environment. A solid understanding of wines, spirits, premium ingredients, and classic culinary terminology is important. The role also demands strong communication, emotional intelligence, calmness under pressure, a refined presence, and the stamina to stand and move for long shifts while carrying trays, plates, and wine service items.
