Role Summary

The Data Strategy Consultant role at Fusion Consulting is a senior advisory position based within the Data Office. The key responsibility is to elevate client perspectives on data, AI, and technology, devising actionable strategies for leadership in pharma, biotech, and medtech sectors. This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on involvement, overseeing client engagements from initial workshops through to concrete recommendations, while maintaining a strong understanding of technical elements to effectively guide implementation teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate data, AI, and technology strategies aligned with clients' business goals.
• Facilitate client workshops, steering committee meetings, and executive-level discussions from planning to follow-up.
• Construct and deliver robust business cases for data and AI investments linked to quantifiable value.
• Design sustainable governance frameworks for data and AI that clients can maintain effectively.
• Advise clients on technology and platform choices, without direct involvement in technical development.
• Convert complex technical concepts into actionable insights for leadership through compelling visual storytelling.
• Manage relationships with senior stakeholders, harmonizing diverse functional priorities.
• Coach both client teams and Fusion staff in structured problem-solving and strategic communications.

Candidate Profile

• Exceptional ability to clarify ambiguous problems under tight deadlines.
• Skilled in managing senior stakeholder workshops to drive decisions.
• Experience producing business cases for scrutiny by finance and technology audiences.
• Proficient in creating polished, persuasive presentations suitable for executive audiences.
• Comfortable engaging with data architects and AI engineers, without requiring hands-on technical building.
• Effective at balancing strong client relationship management with the need to challenge.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline; MBA is advantageous.
• 6 to 10+ years professional experience, including at least 3 years at MBB firms, top-tier boutiques, or Big 4 strategy divisions.
• Proven leadership of client workshops and independent delivery of key outputs.
• Strong background in data, AI, or technology strategy, particularly with governance experience.
• Experience in life sciences or regulated industries is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Fluency in both German and English at the native level.
