About Fusion Consulting
Fusion Consulting is a premier global business and IT boutique consultancy dedicated to the Life Sciences sector, collaborating with leading firms in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and animal health. With a workforce exceeding 450 employees across 25 global offices, we aim to revolutionize business transformations by delivering innovative, industry-setting solutions, focusing on S4HANA, Data & Cloud, and cutting-edge technologies. Our approach emphasizes rapid, intelligent decision-making grounded in a client-first and open-hearted ethos, promoting entrepreneurial spirit and global teamwork.
Role Overview
Our clients in pharma, biotech, and medtech are tasked with transforming isolated data and AI projects into strategic competitive advantages. The Data Strategy Consultant plays a pivotal senior advisory role within our Data Office, influencing how clients conceptualize data, AI, and technology at executive levels and crafting actionable strategies for leadership.
This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on involvement—guiding client engagements from initial workshops through final recommendations, while staying technically informed enough to challenge and advise development teams. Responsibilities include advising on investment priorities, governance frameworks, and sequencing change within complex, regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and articulate data, AI, and technology strategies aligned with client business goals.
- Lead workshops, steering committees, and executive conversations from initial design to follow-up.
- Construct compelling business cases for data and AI investments tied to measurable impact.
- Design sustainable governance models for data and AI operations beyond mere compliance.
- Provide expert guidance on technology and platform choices without direct technical implementation.
- Convey complex technical topics through clear, impactful visual storytelling accessible to leadership.
- Manage senior stakeholder relationships, balancing diverse functional interests.
- Coach client and Fusion teams on structured problem solving and strategic communications.
Candidate Profile
- Expertise in structuring ambiguous problems into clear viewpoints under time constraints.
- Experience facilitating senior-level stakeholder discussions and leading workshops to decisions.
- Ability to develop rigorous business cases acceptable to both finance and technology executives.
- Proficient in preparing polished, executive-quality presentations that effectively convey arguments.
- Comfort interacting with data architects and AI engineers, without direct technical build responsibility.
- Skilled in balancing relationship management with the need to challenge client perspectives.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Data Science, or a relevant field; MBA is advantageous.
- 6 to 10+ years of professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years at top consulting firms such as MBB, leading boutiques, or Big 4 strategy divisions.
- Proven success in independently leading client workshops and managing deliverables.
- Strong foundation in data, AI, or technology strategy, including governance expertise.
- Experience in life sciences or other regulated industries is a plus but not mandatory.
- Fluency in German and English at a native or professional level.
