Role Overview

A reputable company located in County Longford, Ireland, is looking to hire a full-time Estimator. This permanent position involves producing precise and competitive cost quotations and overseeing the tender process from the initial enquiry stage through to project award, while reporting to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze tender documents, drawings, and technical specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
• Accurately determine pricing for materials, labour, subcontractor services, and other project-associated expenses, including obtaining and negotiating with suppliers.
• Prepare and submit tenders and detailed cost breakdowns with all supporting paperwork, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and facilitate a smooth transition of awarded projects to the execution team.
• Cost project variations, maintain accurate estimating records and databases, and review tender results to drive process improvements.

Candidate Requirements

• At least two years of relevant experience in estimating within construction, manufacturing, or allied fields.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications effectively.
• Strong commercial insight coupled with excellent numerical and analytical capabilities.
• Familiarity with estimating or quantity take-off software considered an advantage.
• Exceptional attention to detail, proficient in managing stakeholder relationships, and possession of a valid clean driving licence.
