About The Role and Company

Become a vital contributor to The Building Intelligence Group (TBIG) in Ōtepoti (Dunedin), New Zealand, where strong connections within the local community define our work. As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee diverse Three Waters and infrastructure resilience projects including treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and related networks. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects through their entire lifecycle from feasibility studies to delivery and final handover.
  • Provide both strategic leadership and close oversight of project details, including issuing contract instructions, leading team meetings, and maintaining clear client communications.
  • Coordinate design and technical teams while managing multiple stakeholders and navigating the project consenting process.
  • Challenge project concepts, resolve complex problems, and provide effective solutions.
  • Prepare detailed contract documentation and reports, leveraging expertise in NZS3910/NZS3916 contracts, acting as the Engineer’s Representative.
  • Ensure adherence to New Zealand building regulations and safety legislation with a strong emphasis on health and safety standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • Approximately 8+ years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering, project delivery, or construction management, particularly in client or consultant-side Project Management roles.
  • Qualifications in relevant STEM disciplines such as Civil Engineering or Construction Project Management.
  • Possession of a current driver's license and willingness to travel to local and regional project sites.
  • Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects, especially Three Waters assets; experience with building projects is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholder groups effectively.
  • In-depth understanding of contract preparation, correspondence, and reporting, particularly NZS3910/NZS3916 standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand building codes and regulations and a focus on maintaining high safety standards.
