Job Description

This role involves managing all facets of architectural work, including the planning, design, and supervision of construction for new buildings, extensions, alterations, and renovation projects at AL TAIF TECHNICAL SERVICES LLC. The position requires developing and reviewing project planning documents to ensure alignment with program scope and objectives, and taking responsibility for long-range facilities planning and programming to support all AL TAIF programs. Adherence to ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standards is mandatory. The successful candidate will learn, understand, and comply with all applicable health, safety, and environment directives, contributing to a safe and healthy working environment and ensuring compliance with all company policies, manuals, procedures, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of architectural projects, from initial planning through to design and construction oversight.
  • Develop and meticulously review project planning documentation, ensuring consistency with the overall program scope and intent.
  • Lead long-range facilities planning and programming initiatives to support AL TAIF's strategic objectives.
  • Ensure all architectural processes strictly adhere to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental directives, actively participating in the creation of a secure work environment.
  • Uphold all company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Manage the delivery of architectural and engineering services during the project planning phase.
  • Evaluate the performance of consultants and contractors against contractual and technical specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of contract schedules for planning and programming services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on new architectural and engineering projects, including defining project requirements, drafting Scopes of Work (SOW), selecting external consultants, and approving study outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of construction project proposals for technical validity.
  • Implement environmentally responsible practices in facilities planning and design, focusing on sustainable development and energy efficiency.
  • Undertake conceptual project definition studies, analyzing alternatives for building systems and components to establish preliminary designs.
  • Perform regular reviews to track progress against major goals and master plan implementation.
  • Support the planning and development of new facilities and the renovation of existing ones.
  • Participate in design reviews, defining and justifying project requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and advanced professional support to senior management.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
  • Assist other members of the Facilities Department in their duties.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Possess a minimum of four to five years of relevant experience in the architectural field.
  • Previous experience working in the Gulf States (Middle East) region is considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and apply complex theoretical concepts and advancements in architectural and related engineering literature.
  • Proficiency in applying sound judgment based on extensive experience with standard practices, techniques, and methods in building design and construction.
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid UAE driver's license.
