Job description

Job Summary

This role involves developing design and technical solutions under the guidance of an Architect or Project Manager. The Architectural Design Staff will work collaboratively within a team, contributing to the design and production of architectural documents throughout all project phases.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with the project team across all stages of architectural design.
  • Contribute to design development using sketches, digital models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual aids.
  • Participate in schematic design, site selection, and building analysis.
  • Prepare and revise architectural documentation, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical) to align with design intent.
  • Research and explore materials, building products, constructability, and processes.
  • Develop client and peer presentation materials and assist in delivering presentations.
  • Liaise with design team members to ensure seamless integration of architectural details with other project disciplines.
  • Assist with building code analysis and system selection.
  • Utilize BIM technologies for creating three-dimensional building models.
  • Support the permitting process and respond to comments.
  • Provide assistance with construction contract administration tasks.
  • Attend project coordination meetings with internal teams and external consultants.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of work.
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Promote sustainable design principles.
  • Attend project and studio meetings.
  • Participate in studio events.
  • Continuously seek innovative methods for task completion.
  • Learn and implement studio and BRR standards.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

Education

  • Professional accredited degree in Architecture is essential.

Experience

  • 0 to 3 years of experience in an architectural-related field.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Architectural licensure is not required.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to comprehend and articulate complex architectural concepts, both functional and aesthetic.
  • Proficiency in creative and critical thinking, with the ability to graphically communicate ideas.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Capability to assist with architectural research, document development, peer consultation, and program implementation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Critical skills in Revit and AutoCAD; a drive to explore and apply new technologies in architecture.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment.
  • Significant time will be spent working on a computer while seated.
  • Travel is required for this position.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
