OR Homes is a California-based design-build practice focused on custom residences, additions, ADUs, remodels, and ground-up homes across the San Francisco Bay Area. The firm handles projects end to end, beginning with design and approvals and continuing through construction.
Role overview
This position is for an experienced Architectural Project Manager to oversee US residential work from concept through permit approval. The role involves managing project coordination, consultant communication, permit workflows, and delivery support for multiple assignments at once.
Key responsibilities
- Lead several US residential projects at the same time.
- Work with architectural, structural, MEP, civil, landscape, Title 24, and other project consultants.
- Monitor timelines, milestones, and scheduled deliverables.
- Check drawing sets for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Handle permit filings and follow-up resubmissions.
- Review municipal comments and coordinate responses with consultants.
- Compile progress updates and keep action-item trackers current.
- Join coordination meetings and document minutes and next steps.
- Assist with construction administration tasks, including RFIs and consultant coordination.
- Collaborate closely with the California leadership team.
Candidate profile
The ideal professional is organized, proactive, and able to run projects independently while keeping consultant coordination and permit progress on track. They should be comfortable identifying issues early and supporting delivery with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- At least 8 years of overall professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience handling US architectural projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Revit.
- Hands-on experience coordinating structural, MEP, civil, and related consultants.
- Experience with US permit submissions and responses to city review comments.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong planning, coordination, and project management capabilities.
- Exposure to California residential projects is preferred.
- Experience with custom homes, additions, ADUs, or single-family residential work is preferred.
- Prior work with US-based architects, builders, or design-build companies is preferred.
- Familiarity with tools such as Buildertrend, JobTread, Asana, Monday.com, or similar project management platforms is preferred.
Eligibility
Applicants should hold a B.Arch in Architecture and have the required professional background in architectural project management, especially on US residential assignments.
Additional information
This role requires strong coordination across multiple disciplines, the ability to manage permit-related follow-ups, and active support during construction administration. The person should be comfortable working remotely with a California-based team while managing deliverables for residential projects in the United States.
