About the company
Goldman Sachs is a global financial services firm that brings together people, capital, and ideas to solve client challenges. Its core businesses span investment banking, securities, and investment management, serving a diverse base of corporations, financial institutions, governments, and individuals.
Within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, the firm delivers both traditional and alternative investment solutions to institutions, insurers, pension funds, and third-party wealth clients around the world. This opening sits inside a high-impact Chief Operating Officer team that supports the commercial, operational, and strategic agenda for the Asset Management business across Asia Pacific.
The role is suited to someone who enjoys a fast-moving, execution-focused setting and can work across teams and geographies to help define priorities, improve operational performance, and support growth at scale.
Role overview
Based in Singapore, this position plays an important part in aligning and delivering work across the Asia Pacific COO team. The team is responsible for business strategy, operational discipline, financial performance management, regulatory preparedness, risk oversight, and firmwide governance for the Asset Management business.
You will collaborate with leadership and with teams across sales, product, finance, operations, engineering, legal, compliance, and risk. The objective is to support commercial growth, strengthen the operating platform, improve client experience, and uphold governance standards across the region.
Key responsibilities
- Help coordinate regional and global programmes that support growth, improve cross-functional delivery, elevate the client experience, strengthen the operating model, and push forward strategic priorities across business lines.
- Maintain strong governance across Asia Pacific by tracking regulatory obligations and working with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to identify and reduce business risks. Assist with participation in regional and global governance forums.
- Support planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring for the sales teams. Work with regional partners to reinforce financial discipline, improve resource allocation, and increase clarity in business reporting.
- Contribute to APAC hiring, onboarding, employee development, and culture-related initiatives in partnership with HCM and leadership teams. Help build capability, improve engagement, and support organisational health.
- Assist in improving the regional operating platform through process redesign, technology adoption, and operational efficiency initiatives. Partner across offices to simplify execution, strengthen governance, and deploy resources effectively.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in asset management or the wider financial services sector, ideally with exposure to strategy, COO, project, or business management work.
- Good understanding of asset management business models, financial statements, and reporting.
- Proven ability to manage several stakeholders and work effectively in a global environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical thinking, and organisational abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where execution matters.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to exercise sound judgement while working collaboratively.
- A bachelor’s degree is required; CFA or similar advanced qualifications are an advantage.
