Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on sourcing and purchasing materials and services efficiently, keeping supplier performance on track, managing spend carefully, and making sure purchase orders are completed accurately. The role also supports manufacturing activities while staying aligned with quality, safety, and company requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle internal purchase requisitions for the North America region within the Robotics business unit.
  • Source and buy direct and indirect materials and services based on business needs.
  • Collect and assess supplier quotes, then negotiate pricing and delivery timelines to support required lead times.
  • Record savings achievements, sourcing choices, and supporting audit files.
  • Check invoices, fix mismatches, and assist Accounts Payable when needed.
  • Keep vendor profiles, pricing terms, and supporting records organized for audit readiness.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and follow up regularly with approved suppliers.
  • Update supplier and purchasing information in ERP platforms.
  • Coordinate supplier onboarding and qualification in line with internal procedures.
  • Work closely with Operations, Finance, Quality, and Logistics teams.
  • Serve as the local Procurement Key User for SAP Ariba.
  • Promote correct Ariba usage, platform adoption, and compliance with procurement policies.
  • Resolve process and system problems and act as first-line support while coordinating with the central Ariba team.
  • Maintain local vendor catalogs, templates, and guided buying content where needed.
  • Support testing, deployments, improvements, and ongoing optimization of Ariba procurement processes.
  • Lead local communication, training, and awareness efforts related to procurement.
  • Manage supplier relationships through performance tracking, issue resolution, and continuous improvement work.
  • Participate in quality meetings related to process flow and efficiency issues in sales and order processing areas.

Experience and education

The role calls for a bachelor’s degree in an operations-related field such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or Engineering, along with 4 years of experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience.

Strong computer skills are needed, including hands-on experience with SAP Ariba and SAP ERP (P80 / S-4HANA). SharePoint knowledge is also required to support purchasing workflows, supplier management, and documentation.
