Role overview

Seating Solutions is hiring a CAD Designer to support the creation of accurate technical drawings for high-profile events across the country. The role sits within a business that provides temporary seating, staging, structures, and scenic production for live event environments, supporting the full venue transformation process from design and fabrication through delivery, installation, on-site coordination, and teardown.

The organization is part of a portfolio backed by ZMC, a private equity firm focused on value creation through operational improvement, sector expertise, and close collaboration with management teams.

The ideal candidate will prepare drawing packages for sales teams, customers, building officials, and field technicians using an internal parts library. This opportunity is a strong fit for someone who enjoys detailed drafting work, cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to a fast-growing company in the events industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop practical design solutions within project constraints.
  • Take part in design reviews and support projects that involve site survey information.
  • Create drawings and specifications that comply with relevant codes and standards.
  • Track project timelines and help ensure deliverables are completed by deadline.
  • Review and validate drawings across different design and modeling software formats.
  • Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings that can be used in production.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of professional AutoCAD experience is required.
  • An associate degree or AutoCAD certification is preferred.
  • Prior exposure to entertainment or events-related work such as live events, sports venues, or theatre is preferred.
  • This role requires working from the office.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to create detailed technical drawings is essential.
  • Experience with dynamic blocks and expanding a parts or symbol library is needed.
  • Familiarity with 3D tools, including 3DS Max, is preferred.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is important.
  • Proficiency with PC-based systems, Microsoft Office, Windows, and Adobe Creative Suite is expected.
  • Employment is subject to a background check and drug screening.

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position is $22 to $26 per hour, depending on experience.
