CAD Designer

Role Overview

The CAD Designer will support reinforced concrete drafting and detailing work for structural projects in Chennai. The position focuses on producing accurate 2D drawings, reinforcement details, and coordinated drawing packages in AutoCAD while following project-specific design inputs and drafting standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare RCC 2D drawings, general arrangement drawings, 2D numeration, and detailed rebar reinforcement drawings for concrete structures in AutoCAD, using A0/A1 sheet formats and aligning with EDRC HCIC standards, client requirements, and engineering inputs.
• Apply and maintain drafting conventions such as title blocks, revision logs, layers, scales, fonts, symbols, abbreviations, sheet sizing, and inclusion of engineering and construction reference drawings.
• Keep drawing records current by updating registers, reference drawing lists, revision histories, and check prints, while organizing files properly in the relevant folders.
• Create and manage AutoCAD blocks for repeated components, include True North in GA drawings, and work with design software to improve drafting speed and consistency.
• Coordinate with Design Engineers, BIM teams, geotechnical teams, and other departments such as MEP to clarify inputs and carry out interference checks.

Drawing Control and Coordination

The role also involves maintaining strong drawing control practices, ensuring version accuracy, and supporting cross-functional technical coordination so that deliverables remain consistent and construction-ready.
