Job Summary

American Woodmark is seeking a dedicated Cleaner for our facility in Eastanollee, GA. This full-time, onsite position operates on the 1st shift and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, performing daily cleaning tasks, and assisting the maintenance department as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping using effective cleaning techniques.
  • Manage time efficiently and work autonomously, demonstrating flexibility in daily tasks.
  • Operate the industrial sweeper on a daily basis.
  • Support the maintenance team with cleaning duties related to the preventative maintenance program.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or plant leadership.
  • Exhibit excellent attendance and reliability.
  • Frequently engage in bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, and lifting, while safely handling cleaning agents.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not involve any supervisory duties.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing is required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience of 1-3 years is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Familiarity with computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), is expected.

Language Skills

The ability to comprehend and interpret standard business documents such as packing lists, manifests, bills of lading, pallet tickets, and job orders is essential. Effective listening and communication skills are needed to interact with colleagues and clients, addressing common inquiries and complaints.

Mathematical Skills

Basic mathematical concepts, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, should be applied to tasks such as inventory management, material procurement, and job order verification.

Reasoning Ability

The capacity to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw logical conclusions is important. The ability to understand and execute a variety of tasks and instructions is also required.

Physical Demands

This job requires regular engagement in seeing, hearing, crouching, using stairs, standing, bending, reaching, feeling with hands and arms, and walking. Frequent use of hands for fine motor tasks and reaching is necessary. The role involves lifting objects up to 50 pounds and pushing loads of 100 to 200 pounds.

Working Conditions

The work environment is both indoors and outdoors within a manufacturing setting. Noise levels can range from moderate to high, necessitating the use of hearing protection. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves are mandatory. Overtime may be required based on production demands and company policy.
