Job description
Role Overview
As a Customer Delivery Driver based in Cleethorpes, you will play a pivotal part in delivering grocery orders directly to customers' homes. This role extends beyond driving and involves providing excellent customer service with a friendly attitude. You will experience varied daily tasks in a hands-on environment and have the autonomy of working independently while also having support from store managers and teammates.
Working Hours and Availability
The role requires availability within specific time windows during the week. Scheduled shifts will be assigned with a minimum guaranteed 16 hours per week, though part-time working down to 12 hours weekly may be available. The expected availability periods are:
- Thursday: 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- Friday: 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Saturday: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
You will receive three weeks' notice of your shift schedule, and there is flexibility to accommodate availability that overlaps most of these times.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vans and trays.
- Ensure the delivery yard is tidy and free of litter during and after shifts.
- Participate in washing and managing delivery trays.
- Load delivery vans appropriately, ensuring vehicle roadworthiness.
- Communicate with customers about order modifications, substitutions, and resolve complaints, including offering refunds when necessary.
- Handle deliveries carefully as if they were personal belongings.
- Clarify substitution charges or lack thereof to customers.
- Deliver within the customer's allotted time slot.
- Notify customers ahead of arrival if earlier than scheduled.
- Inform the store if delayed by more than 30 minutes.

Compensation and Benefits
- Starting pay at £14.18 per hour for locations outside the M25; £15.45 within the M25. Additional location-based bonuses may apply.
