The position is focused on building trusted senior-level relationships, aligning regional business priorities with IT strategy, and converting regional plans into measurable digital outcomes.

The role also acts as a change leader as the region moves from locally managed technology toward a global product-based model. A key part of the job is to promote global platforms while making sure APSA-specific business needs continue to be met.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain strong working relationships with senior business stakeholders across APSA, while also leveraging partnerships inside the global IT organization to create business value.
  • Supervise team members through both direct and shared reporting structures.
  • Contribute as a core member of the Animal Health IT Commercial Value Team leadership group, helping steer people strategy, technology direction, and value delivery.
  • Drive an integrated, value-focused approach to investment planning, program planning, and project prioritization across a complex technology portfolio, especially within the marketing technology environment.
  • Ensure that the most important business outcomes are executed and tracked through regional and global delivery teams, with value realization measured over time.
  • Align regional business strategy with technology investments in areas such as eCommerce, CRM, websites, digital marketing, data quality, master data management, pricing, rebates, sales incentives, and AI-enabled efficiency solutions.
  • Represent the global product model within APSA, explaining its benefits and building agreement among senior leaders.
  • Create a strong engagement model between business partners and IT teams based on trust, accountability, and effective collaboration.
  • Promote a unified Business–IT strategy for the region while accounting for local market realities across APSA.
  • Lead the design and rollout of compliant, strategically aligned solutions for regional business needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of technology trends and future opportunities relevant to commercial competitiveness in APSA markets.
  • Rank portfolio investments to support high-value strategic opportunities, with preference for global commercial and digital platforms.
  • Work with global product leaders to shape roadmaps and introduce innovations that can scale across markets.
  • Oversee regional demand planning, portfolio planning, forecasting, and ongoing updates across APSA.
  • Coordinate demand intake and prioritization, and encourage resource and expertise sharing for projects and support work across a geographically and culturally diverse region.
  • Partner with Finance and portfolio management teams to meet operational and budget commitments.
  • Lead a team of individual contributors supporting regional commercial technology work and business-program execution.
  • Coach and develop the team to succeed in a global product-centric structure, strengthening cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, and platform-first thinking.
  • Work with internal and external IT teams to align priorities and deliver solutions and services effectively for the region.
  • Review talent needs and sourcing strategies regularly, and implement a people plan with a strong inclusion focus.
  • Be willing to travel up to about 30% of the time, including international travel within APSA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a closely related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT covering commercial, sales and marketing, and/or supply chain processes and systems.
  • Background in leading large-scale technology change, ideally moving from regional or local systems to a global platform or product model.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority in a globally matrixed organization.
  • Experience working with global product line owners or within a product-centric IT environment is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance regional business needs and global technology priorities.
  • Prior people-management experience, including leading account managers, business analysts, or similar roles.
  • Strong customer-facing business partnership skills, including account management and relationship management.
  • Proven ability to translate business goals and requirements into IT services and capabilities.
