About the role
As a Dispenser in one of Boots UK’s stores, you will play an important part in the pharmacy team by supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare colleagues in delivering safe, effective pharmacy and healthcare services.
Based in the store’s healthcare department, you will build strong relationships with patients by taking time to understand their needs. This position is strictly store-based in the UK. Applications for remote working will not be considered. Candidates who are outside the UK will only be progressed if they can provide relevant UK qualifications and confirmed evidence of the right to work in the UK.
Key responsibilities

- Work alongside other healthcare professionals in store to support the delivery and management of pharmacy services.
- Offer patients guidance on medicines and direct more complex queries to the pharmacist where needed.
- Follow standard operating procedures to ensure prescriptions are dispensed safely and within legal requirements.
- Stay current with new in-store developments and follow all operational processes.
- Help patients manage repeat prescriptions effectively so they can take medicines correctly, improve adherence and reduce waste.
- Use evolving in-store technologies and systems that improve dispensing processes, enhance patient safety and create more time for patient care.
Training and development
You will receive regular updates and training to build your healthcare knowledge, along with career development opportunities such as training to become a Pharmacy Technician or moving into the store leadership team.
Requirements
- You must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification at NVQ2 level, or an equivalent qualification, or be working toward it and have finished the first year of an MPharm degree.
- You must have current and valid UK right to work. Sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Visa route is not available for this role.
- Experience in community pharmacy would be an advantage.
Benefits
- Discretionary Christmas gift payment.
- Staff discount.
- Enhanced pay for maternity, paternity and adoption leave, plus a gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child.
- Flexible benefits scheme.
- Access to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, the employee assistance programme.

Although this is advertised as a full-time role, part-time and job-share arrangements can be discussed during the application process.
