Role overview

Sodexo is hiring a Floor Technician for Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. This full-time onsite role focuses on keeping floors and surrounding areas clean, safe, and well maintained in a university setting. The position is scheduled for afternoon/evening shifts on varying days, with exact shift details shared during the interview.

Compensation

The pay rate for this role is $17.50 to $18 per hour.

What you will do

• Carry out detailed hard-floor maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, polishing, scrubbing, stripping, and refinishing with heavy equipment.
• Care for carpeted areas by vacuuming, removing spots, and using extraction methods when needed.
• Handle related housekeeping tasks such as cleaning furniture and emptying trash, linen, and waste containers.
• Wash walls and keep baseboards and cove base molding in good condition when assigned.
• Support the training of other team members, if required.
• Report for scheduled shifts on time and maintain dependable attendance.
• Take on additional tasks as needed based on account needs and client expectations.

What we are looking for

Ideal candidates are dependable, flexible, team-focused, and committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment. Prior experience in floor care is preferred, including work with floor-care machinery and the full range of floor and carpet maintenance. A valid driver’s license is required.
