About The Role
We are seeking a Graphic Designer (m/f/d) to join our team at Kieler Magazin Verlag GmbH, starting July 1, 2026. This role requires 20-40 hours per week and is crucial to our creative department. You will be responsible for the design and execution of various media products, including digital and print materials, campaigns, brochures, flyers, banners, and motion graphics. Your creative input and design expertise will be vital in maintaining a visually appealing and consistent brand image. You will collaborate closely with Brand Marketing and other internal departments to ensure high-quality, cohesive designs. This includes retouching images according to our style guide, preparing print-ready PDFs, and performing technical checks on print data. You will also independently develop existing design concepts and continuously optimize our visual communication.
Qualifications
We require a completed apprenticeship or a degree in Graphic Design or Media Design (Digital and Print). You should have several years of professional experience as a Graphic Designer and be proficient with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Experience in creating animations and video sequences, along with familiarity with other design tools, is also beneficial. A strong sense of aesthetics, typography, and CI-compliant visual communication is essential. You should possess a structured, independent, and meticulous work ethic with a high commitment to quality. The ability to collaborate across departments, communicate effectively, and function as a team player is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of digital and print media, as well as motion graphics.
- Creatively implement layouts for campaigns, brochures, flyers, banners, and other media in line with corporate identity.
- Edit images from shoots and other materials according to the established visual style.
- Independently develop and edit animations and video sequences for digital platforms.
- Further develop existing design concepts and CI guidelines.
- Create print-ready PDFs and perform technical checks on print data.
- Collaborate closely with Brand Marketing and other departments to ensure a consistent brand presence.
