Role summary

This is a full-time, on-site Medical Receptionist position based in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, with shifts scheduled between 7:30 am and 8:00 pm. During the initial training period, working hours will be 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

About the organisation

The employer is Australia’s largest private diagnostic imaging network, with more than 240 clinics nationally and a team of over 4,000 staff. The network delivers a wide range of imaging services, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, general x-ray, and nuclear medicine. Its purpose is to help reduce uncertainty and save lives, while aiming to be the most respected and trusted medical imaging specialist in the world.

What the role involves

As the first point of contact for patients, you will help create a welcoming and efficient front-desk experience. The role combines patient service, administrative coordination, and billing support, with exposure to both reception and contact centre work once training is complete.

  • Greet patients in a friendly manner and support them with the check-in process.
  • Respond to emails and telephone enquiries in a timely and professional way.
  • Handle billing across private, Medicare, workers compensation, and DVA matters.
  • Work closely with clerical and technical teams, radiologists, and referrers.
  • After full training, take on contact centre duties such as answering incoming calls for bookings.
  • Guide patients on any preparation needed before scans.
  • Maintain and coordinate the appointment schedule effectively.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate is a polished communicator who can manage a busy reception environment with accuracy and care. You should be comfortable juggling multiple systems, appointments, and patient interactions while maintaining a high standard of attention to detail.

  • Strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to keep patient flow and appointments on track.
  • Confidence using several screens and software systems at the same time.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in customer service or medical reception is preferred.

Benefits and workplace support

  • Access to wellbeing support and benefits.
  • Fitness Passport membership, including gym access and classes.
  • A supportive management team that values employee wellbeing.
  • Discounted and bulk-billed scans and services for you and your family.
  • Structured training to help you succeed in the role.
  • Career development opportunities across a large national network.
  • A collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Uniform options provided at no cost, with annual top-ups.
  • Competitive pay and benefits package.
  • Annual remuneration review.
