Job description
Role Summary
This role focuses on overseeing and executing the installation of electrical and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems at project sites. The primary goal is to ensure all work adheres to design specifications, quality benchmarks, safety regulations, and project schedules. This involves close collaboration with internal departments, external contractors, and suppliers to guarantee the efficient and timely completion of electrical and ELV components within the broader MEP scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the installation of electrical and ELV systems, including High Tension/Low Tension (HT/LT) systems, lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and Building Management Systems (BMS), strictly following approved plans and specifications.
- Liaise with civil engineering and other MEP teams to ensure smooth integration of electrical and ELV installations with ongoing site activities.
- Uphold adherence to all relevant electrical codes, safety protocols, and quality standards during the entire installation and testing phases.
- Conduct thorough inspections, identify deficiencies, create snag lists, and ensure prompt resolution of issues in conjunction with vendors and subcontractors.
- Contribute to the preparation of necessary documentation, such as material submittals, shop drawings, and method statements for electrical and ELV systems.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning processes for electrical and ELV systems, verifying that they meet all functional requirements.

- QA/QC and Safety Teams: For providing progress updates, facilitating inspections, and ensuring quality compliance.
- Stores and Procurement Departments: For managing material availability and inventory levels.

- Clients, Consultants, and Project Management Consultants (PMCs): For inspections, obtaining approvals, and ensuring compliance.
- Statutory and Government Authorities: For securing electrical safety certifications and undergoing compliance inspections.
Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications
- Minimum educational requirement is an ITI, Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of the local language is advantageous for effective site communication.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 to a maximum of 10 years of relevant professional experience is required.
- The experience should encompass electrical and ELV system installation, supervision, and testing within construction project environments, including experience in coordinating with diverse teams and managing compliance.
Technical and Behavioral Skills
Technical Skills
- Expertise in electrical system installation and ELV systems (CCTV, access control, BMS, Public Address systems).
- Proficiency in cable laying and termination, switchgear, and panel installation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, use AutoCAD, and possess strong MS Office skills.
- Skilled in site supervision and ensuring electrical safety compliance.
- Competence in load calculation and voltage drop analysis.
- Experience in testing, commissioning, and quality inspection of electrical systems.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Knowledge of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.
- Experience with Low Voltage/Extra Low Voltage system installation.
- Proficiency in reconciliation processes.
- Skills in resource planning.
