Traffic is a brand communications and digital agency that works with ambitious organisations across the Asia Pacific. Its client base spans property, automotive, retail, professional services, infrastructure, lifestyle, and emerging technology.

The agency develops brands, campaigns, and digital experiences designed to support commercial growth, covering brand strategy, identity creation, integrated campaigns, digital experience, and ongoing activation.

Role overview

Traffic is seeking an experienced mid-weight graphic designer with integrated campaign experience who can thrive in a busy agency setting. The role involves turning creative and digital ideas into high-quality output that has real impact across digital, presentation, and print applications.

You will collaborate closely with the Creative Director, GM, Design Director, and developers to deliver polished brand and digital work across multiple sectors.

This is a permanent contract position based in Melbourne.

Digital design and campaign execution

  • Interpret creative briefs and turn them into clear, effective visual solutions.
  • Build layouts, mockups, and concept directions for campaign work.
  • Create integrated assets for both print and digital channels.
  • Produce creative for social media, display advertising, and online communications.
  • Design EDM templates and responsive digital creative.
  • Develop landing page layouts for desktop and mobile use.
  • Prepare assets to match platform requirements and performance standards.
  • Adapt and localise campaign materials for use across multiple formats and channels.

Production and delivery

  • Produce accurate, final artwork that is ready for production across all channels.
  • Prepare files for both digital and print output as needed.
  • Liaise with printers, fabricators, developers, photographers, and other production partners when required.
  • Check layouts, formatting, and output quality carefully.
  • Keep project files organised and manage assets efficiently.

Collaboration

  • Partner with designers, strategists, and developers to deliver work.
  • Handle several projects and deadlines at the same time.
  • Contribute ideas and help solve design problems proactively.

Experience and skills

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in either an agency or in-house design role.
  • A strong portfolio showing digital and graphic design capability.
  • Confident use of Figma, including component systems, auto layout, prototyping, and collaborative workflows.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience with WordPress.
  • Understanding of responsive and digital-first design principles.
  • Experience creating campaigns for social media, digital advertising, and EDM formats.
  • Excellent typography, layout, and visual communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Clear communication skills and a methodical approach to meeting deadlines.

AI and future-ready design

The agency is also interested in designers who are open to emerging tools and evolving workflows, including AI-assisted ideation, image generation platforms, and productivity or automation tools. Strong expertise is not required, but curiosity and a willingness to learn are important.

Requirements

  • Relevant design qualification, with a Bachelor or Diploma preferred.
  • A portfolio must be submitted; applications without one will not be considered.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • Must be based in Melbourne for this permanent contract role.
