About the Role
We are looking for a Payment Clerk to join our team at Cartrack Tanzania in Dar es Salaam. This position involves managing and processing payment transactions accurately and timely according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile bank statement reports using Excel and forward them promptly to the South Africa bank and cash team for data capturing.
- Accurately upload Purchase Orders (POs) into the NAV system, making sure the appropriate General Ledger (GL) codes are applied.
- Ensure all incoming POs are processed within a 24-hour timeframe after receipt of invoices.
- Follow up with suppliers on any pending invoices to facilitate their prompt submission and processing.
- Record Electronic Fiscal Device (EFD) receipts related to previous day's billing and conduct daily reconciliation checks.
- Efficiently process credit notes in the EFD system to maintain accurate financial records.
- Load and manage payment processing according to the company's procedures.
- Conduct petty cash reconciliations regularly and maintain comprehensive transaction records.
- Undertake additional tasks as delegated by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or any related discipline.
- Between 1 to 3 years of practical experience in accounts, cashiering, payments, or finance roles.
- Handling cash, invoices, or payment processing experience is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
