About the Role
A dynamic lower middle market private investment firm based in South Florida seeks a Private Equity Associate to join their team in Miami. This role involves collaborating closely with senior investment professionals throughout the entire deal process, from sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities to managing transactions and portfolio companies.
Responsibilities
- Assess potential investments by conducting financial modeling, valuation work, and industry analysis.
- Perform comprehensive commercial, financial, and operational due diligence on target companies.
- Develop and update detailed leveraged buyout (LBO) and operational models to inform investment decisions.
- Create investment memoranda and presentations for internal review by the investment committee.
- Support transaction execution activities by liaising with company management, lenders, and external advisors.
- Track portfolio company performance post-investment and collaborate on initiatives aimed at value enhancement.
Qualifications
- Between 2 and 4 years of prior experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or similar investment-focused roles.
- Proven expertise in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and analytical problem-solving.
- Demonstrated experience assessing middle market businesses and involvement in mergers and acquisitions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and capable of thriving in an entrepreneurial and team-oriented environment.
