Job Overview
The Production Supervisor role involves overseeing daily operations on the manufacturing floor to ensure production objectives are met efficiently while maximizing manpower, machinery, and resources. This position demands coordination with various departments to maintain smooth production flow and foster continuous process improvements with an emphasis on quality, safety, and discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategically plan and assign workforce to fulfill daily production goals, ensuring proper attendance and sufficient operator availability.
- Maintain an optimal mix of skilled and trainee personnel to guarantee consistent production processes.
- Oversee daily shop-floor activities, monitor outputs, troubleshoot operational challenges, and minimize downtime.
- Utilize manpower, equipment, and resources effectively to comply with production timelines.
- Liaise with Production Planning, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Inventory teams to sustain uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Conduct shift change briefings, communicating production objectives, quality alerts, safety protocols, and pertinent updates.
- Enforce strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company policies, and work instructions.
- Ensure products meet set quality benchmarks by tracking rejections, supervising rework, and implementing immediate corrective measures.
- Promote a safe and orderly workspace aligned with safety guidelines and 5S methodology.
- Ensure workforce observes safety practices, punctuality, accountability, shift discipline, and efficient utilization.
- Lead and mentor operators to enhance productivity, teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement culture.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to production and quality; prepare and report daily analytics; communicate progress to management; and lead initiatives aimed at waste reduction, efficiency gains, and operational enhancement.
- Keep precise production documentation, maintain records, and execute reporting and transactions using SAP and Microsoft Excel, utilizing these tools for inventory management, data analysis, production tracking, and MIS reporting.
