Job Summary
This role is for an accomplished Project Manager who can take charge of irrigation, canal, and pipeline infrastructure assignments from start to finish. The position focuses on planning, execution, tracking, and final delivery of projects such as pipeline distribution systems, open canals, SCADA-based automation, and associated civil works. Success in this role depends on strong leadership, coordination, and project control capabilities to deliver work on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality level.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of irrigation and related infrastructure projects.
- Develop and track project timelines, budgets, and manpower/material planning.
- Direct site operations involving pipeline networks, open canals, canal lining, embankments, cross-drainage works, regulators, escape structures, valves, and other civil components.
- Make sure all work follows approved drawings, technical specifications, and contractual obligations.
- Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and government departments to keep the project moving smoothly.
- Keep a close watch on progress, workmanship, and site safety requirements.
- Coordinate site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and labour teams effectively.
- Study technical reports, DPRs, method statements, and work programmes to guide execution.
- Spot risks early and solve technical or operational issues as they arise.
- Maintain compliance with safety rules, environmental standards, and quality procedures.
- Prepare progress updates, MIS reports, and client-facing status communications.
- Control consumption of materials, deployment of equipment, and project costs.
- Handle testing, commissioning, and integration of pipeline systems, irrigation structures, valves, and SCADA automation.
- Ensure the project is handed over successfully, including any operation and maintenance responsibilities required under the contract.
Required Skills
The candidate should have solid practical knowledge of irrigation works, canal and pipeline distribution network construction, and project management methods. Prior exposure to large irrigation, canal, lift irrigation, pipeline, or EPC infrastructure projects is important. Familiarity with earthwork, canal formation, canal lining, embankments, cross-drainage structures, hydraulic structures, and pipeline systems is expected. Working knowledge of MS and HDPE pipeline installation, hydraulic testing, commissioning processes, valves, regulators, and SCADA automation systems is also needed, along with strong leadership, planning, communication, and decision-making abilities.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Civil Engineering.
