Job description

Role Overview

We are hiring for a Sourcing Manager/Director position with a well-established children’s apparel business known for its emphasis on product quality, reliable vendor relationships, and international sourcing operations. The role is based in New York, NY and is intended for someone who can guide sourcing strategy for a growing brand while balancing cost, quality, and speed to market.

Compensation

The expected pay range for this role is $150,000 to $175,000 per year, depending on experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee sourcing operations across children’s apparel product lines.
  • Build and sustain productive partnerships with factories, vendors, mills, and supply chain partners worldwide.
  • Negotiate costs and look for ways to improve margins.
  • Assess vendor performance, production capacity, quality, and compliance.
  • Work closely with Product Development, Production, Design, and Merchandising teams at every stage of the product cycle.
  • Track market shifts and sourcing trends to uncover new suppliers and reduce supply risks.
  • Help keep production on schedule and ensure vendors meet delivery commitments.
  • Contribute to sourcing plans that support growth and improve operational efficiency.
  • Address sourcing, quality, and production issues quickly and effectively.

What We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on sourcing experience in the apparel sector.
  • Experience managing overseas vendors and factory partnerships.
  • Ability to negotiate pricing, lead times, and production terms.
  • Solid knowledge of apparel manufacturing, product development, and supply chain workflows.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
  • Must be able to work onsite full time in New York, NY.

Preferred Background

  • Prior sourcing experience specifically in children’s apparel.
  • Established relationships with factories and vendors in the children’s apparel market.
  • Experience shaping sourcing strategy and coordinating complex vendor networks.
  • Previous collaboration with Product Development and Production teams.

Education

A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
