Job Overview

This role offers STEM professionals in engineering an opportunity to transition into a Special Agent position at the FBI, combining your technical background with investigative duties. It provides extensive training, challenging cases on national security, and collaboration with elite teams to safeguard the nation from cybercrime, terrorism, and fraud.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute investigations into federal law violations focusing on cybersecurity and public protection.
  • Exercise sound judgment, adaptability, and creativity to meet evolving investigative demands.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with a broad spectrum of law enforcement agencies at federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international levels.
  • Maintain physical fitness standards necessary for active law enforcement roles.

Key Qualifications and Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Meet all FBI employment eligibility criteria.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited U.S. college or university, preferably in engineering or a related discipline.
  • All educational credentials must be verified with transcripts.

Compensation

The salary range is $93,749 to $133,200 annually, adjusted by base pay, locality, and availability factors.
