About the role
TJX Canada is looking for a Staff Scrum Master to support fully remote, globally distributed teams working within a SAFe Agile Release Train. The position sits within the Global Compliance, Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability ART and contributes to delivery across a mix of on-premise and cloud-based platforms such as ServiceNow Scoped Applications, Workiva, Watershed, HighQ, and PaperVision. The role focuses on helping teams deliver consistent business value, strengthening Agile maturity, and improving delivery outcomes across multiple geographies.
As a servant leader, you will coach teams on Agile ways of working, remove blockers, and help create a stable environment for predictable and sustainable delivery. The position calls for advanced knowledge of SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and XP principles.
What you'll do
- Lead and coordinate delivery across several Scrum teams.
- Help identify and remove impediments while keeping cross-team dependencies visible.
- Run Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure working agreements are established and encourage the team to follow SAFe and Agile practices.
- Support sprint commitments and help the team plan for business value delivery.
- Work with other Scrum Masters across the ART, including Scrum of Scrums when required.
- Coordinate with Shared Services, DevOps, and other partner teams as needed.
- Partner with the Product Owner to keep backlog items refined, prioritized, and scheduled.
- Facilitate estimation, capacity planning, and release planning activities.
- Track and communicate metrics to monitor progress and support baseline KPI achievement.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Validate time tracking and keep Agile tools updated.
- Protect the team from outside disruption.
- Support ART readiness and preparation activities.
- Manage moderately complex work through team delivery and influence process improvements beyond the ART when needed.
What we're looking for
- A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent mix of engineering capability, training, or technical work experience.
- 5 to 8 years of Scrum Master experience.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methods and the SAFe framework.
- A continuous-improvement mindset with a strong focus on efficient value delivery.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to influence effectively with or without direct authority.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills tailored to the audience.
- Experience in highly collaborative, matrixed environments with measurable business results.
- Background working in blended Agile and waterfall settings.
- Critical thinking ability and a record of driving positive change.
- Working knowledge of Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed team members.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience using Agile tools and applications.
- Agile or project management certifications such as SAFe, PMI-ACP, or PMP.
Benefits and perks
- Inclusive culture built around integrity, respect, and teamwork.
- Immediate access to group benefits, including a Health Care Spending Account, Associate & Family Assistance Program, and wellness resources.
- Management Incentive Plan and a strong Retirement Savings Program.
- Competitive vacation entitlement, plus the option to trade vacation for an additional week.
- Associate discounts at stores for employees and eligible family members.
- Training and development resources to support learning and career growth.
- Career advancement opportunities, including tuition reimbursement.
