About the Role
Corlann’s West Region is hiring a permanent full-time Team Leader / CNM1 / Social Care Leader for Deerpark Services in Ballinasloe, County Galway. Deerpark Services is a growing community-based day and residential service for adults with a range of support needs. The service is built around personal outcome measures and aims to work in partnership with each person and their family so that they are supported to live as valued citizens, experience ordinary everyday life, build genuine friendships, and take on meaningful social roles in their community.
The post is responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of an integrated service that delivers both day and residential supports. The successful candidate will help develop the service in line with Personal Outcomes Measures, HIQA standards, New Directions and future service needs. Corlann’s wider vision is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day organisation of an integrated service covering day and residential supports.
- Support service development in line with Personal Outcomes Measures, HIQA requirements, New Directions and future service expectations.
- Promote dignity, respect and person-centred support for each individual.
- Encourage independence across personal development, education, employment, life skills and daily living skills.
- Support the development of friendships, relationships and community connections.
- Enable people to make choices and participate in community networking.
- Monitor and support the physical, medical, social and emotional wellbeing of the people using the service.
Requirements
- A current Live Register Certificate from An Bord Altranais is required.
- Applicants should hold RNID/RMHN qualifications or a HETAC/NQAI BA (Hons) in Applied Social Studies (Disability) / Social Care.
- A full clean manual driving licence is essential.
- Strong verbal and written English skills are required.
- An appropriate management qualification is desirable, or the candidate must be willing to work towards one.
- Social Care Leader applicants must be registered with CORU, or have already submitted their application.
- Candidates must be eligible for registration on the Social Care Workers Register at CORU, hold a Schedule 3 qualification, hold a comparable recognised qualification, or qualify under Section 91 with acceptable proof of application to CORU received by 30 November 2025.
- Applicants must have at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in services for people with intellectual disabilities.
- Experience of leading and supporting a team is required.
- Experience with integrated day programmes in a residential setting is desirable.
- Background in community networking, local community participation, goal setting and programme implementation is desirable.
- Experience working with autism, challenging behaviour and mental health is an advantage.
- Candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership, planning, sound judgement, discretion, confidentiality, creativity, self-motivation and effective communication.
- A co-operative approach and commitment to a person-centred philosophy are expected.
Working Pattern and Conditions
The post offers 75/75 CNM1 hours or 78/78 Social Care Leader hours per fortnight, arranged on a 14-day roster. Hours may change across a 7-day period to meet service needs. The role includes day, evening and weekend work, public holidays, and occasional night duty. Flexibility in working hours is essential to support the organisation’s Personal Outcome Measures model of service delivery.
Annual leave will be granted according to the grade of the successful candidate. Leave must be planned in advance with the Area Manager or Service Coordinator to ensure appropriate cover for the service.
Employment Terms
This is a permanent, full-time and pensionable position. A probation period of nine months applies from the date of appointment. Employment may be ended during probation if the employer considers the appointee unsuitable, and the probation period may be extended at the employer’s discretion.
