Overview
Tesla is seeking a skilled Architectural Designer to become part of the Design & Engineering team within our Infrastructure Organization. This full-time role involves crafting designs for industrial manufacturing sites and workplace facilities, supporting projects across various Tesla locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility and economic analysis on capital projects to aid leadership decisions and meet strict budget constraints.
- Work closely with design teams and coordinate with manufacturing, construction, and facility stakeholders to understand project needs and prepare comprehensive Basis of Design documentation.
- Partner with estimating teams to develop test-fits and bills of quantities ensuring estimates reach the necessary accuracy for project financing.
- Assist the architectural lead by generating detailed drawings and documentation for permitting and construction, including plans, sections, details, layouts, schedules, calculations, and specifications for projects varying in scale and complexity.
- Coordinate with external design consultants during bidding and project execution phases to ensure designs and specifications satisfy project requirements.
- Contribute to retrofitting, modifications of existing buildings, and the design of new construction or additions.
- Engage actively in drawing approval meetings, inspections with local authorities, and oversee tests and special inspections to verify compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of professional experience with large-scale industrial, commercial, institutional, or facility-related projects (such as manufacturing plants, refineries, data centers, hospitals, or campuses).
- Strong understanding of architectural design fundamentals, relevant codes, design guidelines, and industry standards.
- Proven ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects to ensure consistent quality and productivity.
- Proficiency in advanced 3D modeling software, particularly Autodesk Revit, to develop architectural deliverables.
