Job Overview
Join the Tim Hortons team as a baker at Aramark in Downtown Calgary, contributing your baking skills to create delicious products using established recipes and advanced equipment. This position operates in a safe, guideline-driven environment to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards.
Work Schedule and Location
This is a full-time role with an early shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 3:00 AM to 11:00 AM, ensuring no evening or weekend work is needed. Reliable transportation is necessary as public transit is unavailable during these hours; parking expenses will be reimbursed if required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of bakery items following standardized recipes and production rules.
- Organize and equip your workstation with the necessary ingredients and equipment before baking procedures.
- Measure, weigh, mix, and chop ingredients accurately as part of the preparation process.
- Operate bakery machinery including ovens, stoves, and mixers safely and proficiently.
- Use kitchen utensils safely, including knives, to ensure proper food preparation.
- Store ingredients and finished products appropriately to comply with food safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment consistently.
- Deliver excellent customer service, maintaining a positive and professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
- Adhere strictly to company safety policies, including food safety and sanitation standards.
- Help protect company property and assets throughout the course of work.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous baking experience or related food preparation work is preferred.
- Strong understanding of baking techniques, quality standards, and food safety regulations.
- Food safety certification is required or must be obtained as part of the role.
- Basic mathematical ability for measuring and counting tasks.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and spoken.
- Physical capability to perform activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).
