Budtender

Position Summary

Mint Cannabis is hiring a Budtender to provide excellent guest service and help patients navigate their cannabis options with professionalism, product knowledge, and a friendly attitude. This is a hands-on retail role that plays an important part in delivering a compliant, comfortable, and positive dispensary experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, verify check-ins and eligibility, and record purchase limits in the POS system.
• Share clear guidance on medical cannabis, its uses, and the products available.
• Help patients choose products in a courteous, efficient, and regulation-friendly way.
• Accurately enter orders and take payments through point-of-sale software.
• Handle cash drawers, close them out, balance accounts, and complete daily deposits.
• Pitch in across other areas such as administration and packaging when cross-training allows.
• Keep the dispensary clean, polished, and inviting for both patients and staff.
• Assist the management team with day-to-day store operations to keep service running smoothly.

• A strong customer-service mindset with a warm, professional, and approachable style.
• Reliable, on time, and able to consistently complete assigned duties.
• Comfortable working in a busy retail setting and staying composed under pressure.
• Positive team player who contributes to a supportive work environment.
• Practical understanding of medical cannabis, its uses, and common consumption methods.
• Familiarity with Michigan cannabis brands, products, and patient purchase limits.
• Knowledge of state cannabis rules and dispensary compliance expectations.
• Confidence using POS systems while helping guests at the counter.
• Solid communication, customer service, and basic selling skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to secure and keep a Facility Agent Card or similar credential if Michigan law requires it.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, bend, walk, and move around for long stretches.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs when handling products.

Work Environment

• Fast-moving retail dispensary setting.
• Regular interaction with guests, patients, and coworkers.
• Use of PPE and safety procedures as required by state and company policy.

Compensation and Role Details

This is a non-exempt position in the Retail Operations department, reporting to the Store Manager. The role is based in Roseville, MI. Pay is $14.00 to $15.00 per hour, depending on experience.
