About the Role
Berwick Care is seeking an Operations Manager to lead and enhance the daily operational processes of its supply services, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality product deliveries to care homes. This role is crucial in supporting clients through dependable supply chains that facilitate safe and compliant care practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all daily operational activities, ensuring orders are processed correctly and dispatched as scheduled.
- Maintain efficient workflows and quickly resolve operational disruptions.
- Manage end-to-end procurement, negotiate supplier contracts, and monitor supplier performance against KPIs.
- Oversee accurate inventory management to avoid stockouts and excess, using trend analysis to optimize ordering.
- Supervise warehousing and logistics functions to maintain reliable and cost-effective distribution.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards specific to the care sector.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships by addressing their needs and feedback promptly.
- Control budgets, identify opportunities to reduce costs without sacrificing quality, and report financial metrics to leadership.
- Lead and develop the operations team through goal setting, coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Track performance metrics, promote continuous process improvements, and support strategies for business growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of two years in leadership or management roles with proven team management skills.
- At least two years of hands-on procurement and inventory control experience.
- Familiarity with financial principles and proficiency in IT tools, including Microsoft Office and inventory/order management software.
- Supplier negotiation experience and commitment to excellent customer service standards.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in logistics, regulated care or healthcare sectors, compliance standards, ERP systems, contract management, and formal management certifications.
