Overview
This position aims to ensure effective revenue protection across the transit system by deterring fare evasion and enforcing travel regulations visibly on trains and at stations.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong revenue protection presence aboard trains and within stations.
- Issue penalty fares to passengers traveling without valid tickets or attempting fare evasion, and enforce penalties for by-law violations as needed.
- Implement revenue protection protocols and uphold related by-laws consistently.
- Ensure compliance with travel conditions and relevant codes of practice while coordinating with Station Masters, Security Controllers at the Operations Control Center, and, when required, with Dubai Police authorities.
- Deliver excellent customer service and provide accurate information to passengers.
- Use the S-Tafteesh handheld device for conducting ticket inspections on trains and stations to verify card and ticket validity for services.
- Conduct inspections that include verifying Gold Class travelers, normal class passengers, zone compliance, and participating in special enforcement exercises including collaboration with police and plainclothes duties.
- Support station block management and perform additional tasks as directed by the Revenue Protection Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Familiarity with the Integrated Management System, including environmental and quality standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in high customer contact environments, preferably having handled conflict situations.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and maintain professionalism during confrontations.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in assessing and interpreting information to draw appropriate conclusions.
- Experience handling cash transactions.
