Data Analyst - Transportation Business Intelligence

Position Overview

This role is focused on analyzing supply chain data to transform complex analytical tasks into clear, data-informed narratives. The Data Analyst works closely with peers to apply proven analytical methods on diverse datasets to extract insights and address practical business challenges. The position emphasizes timely, accurate reporting and analytical output, with continuous development in technical skills such as SQL, coding, statistical methods, and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute assigned reporting and analytical duties, accounting for approximately 30% of the role.
• Develop new data visualizations, dashboards, and fulfill additional ad-hoc analytical requests, contributing around 20% of activities.
• Maintain high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail, representing another 20% of responsibilities.
• Enhance technical capabilities and deepen functional expertise within the core group, about 20% of effort.
• Communicate findings clearly, demonstrating how analysis integrates into broader business contexts (10%).

Reporting and Travel

• Reports directly to a manager with no direct supervisees.
• Travel is minimal, requiring less than 10% overnight travel, typically.

Work Environment

• The role involves predominantly seated indoor work in a comfortable setting, with opportunities for occasional movement.
• Lifting or moving light items is rare, and adverse conditions are infrequent and manageable.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must be at least eighteen years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Preferred background includes 1 to 3 years of experience in data mining, statistical evaluation, auditing, or forecasting.
• Prior experience analyzing supply chain, merchandising, or operations data is advantageous.
• Proficiency with SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle, or similar database platforms is desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline is required.
