Role Overview
We seek an early-stage Simulation Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team, contributing to Revel's simulation engine that validates automation and operator control for high-stakes hardware. This position offers growth in the intersection of software engineering, physics, and safety-critical system development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain simulation software that is efficient and reliable.
- Support configuration and execution infrastructure for simulations.
- Collaborate with users to develop new features and models in the simulation software.
- Work closely with compiler, frontend engineers, and product teams to integrate simulations within the larger Revel ecosystem.
- Engage in code reviews and promote continuous improvement standards.
- Assist senior engineers in overcoming engineering challenges related to simulation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic knowledge of C++ and/or Rust, or a strong desire to rapidly develop skills in these languages.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices, including testing and code review processes.
- Academic or practical background in physics and applied mathematics, especially thermodynamics or fluid dynamics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or exposure to TypeScript and/or Python.
- Knowledge of numerical methods or differential equations through coursework or personal projects.
- Interest in developing safety-critical or mission-critical software systems.
- Prior experience with simulation, modeling, or software for physical systems is highly advantageous.

Compensation
This position offers a base pay range of $90,000 to $161,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Revel is committed to fair and competitive compensation, aligned with role expectations and candidate expertise.
