Position Overview
Windmill Healthcare Group is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join the Care Team on a part-time basis at Abbot Close Care Centre in Askeaton, County Limerick. Candidates must be currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and demonstrate a strong commitment to Gerontological Care. Both newly qualified and experienced nurses are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized, effective nursing care to residents focusing on their individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Maintain and promote high professional nursing standards to foster a compassionate care environment.
- Build and sustain supportive relationships with residents, their families, and visitors ensuring comfort and support at all times.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Windmill Healthcare policies among the staff.
- Oversee the correct administration, control, and safekeeping of medications in compliance with established protocols.
- Possess knowledge of HIQA standards and actively participate in compliance inspections; care center maintains full HIQA compliance.
- Manage admissions efficiently with complete and accurate documentation.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to facilitate resident discharges and ensure seamless continuity of care post-discharge.
- Receive daily support from the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) or Director of Nursing (DON).
- Engage in extensive ongoing training opportunities provided by the organization.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland including an active PIN.
- Clinical experience in Gerontological or Residential Nursing Care.
- Familiarity with HIQA Standards and Health Act Regulations of 2013.
- Fluency in spoken and written English with eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Strong interpersonal communication and attentive listening abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and lead within a multidisciplinary care team.
