Role overview
Lids is looking for a 3rd Key team member in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. This full-time store position supports daily retail operations, drives sales through excellent customer service, and helps maintain the standards expected in a branded retail environment.
Sales focus
- Help increase revenue by delivering strong customer service and supporting sales conversion.
- Work toward or beyond individual performance goals set by the company.
- Learn to track and document associate sales performance, offering constructive feedback on strengths and opportunities while staying aligned with company goals.
- Follow visual merchandising standards, including product presentation, signage, and store cleanliness.
- Maintain a professional look in line with the dress code policy.
Operational responsibilities
- Protect company assets in accordance with LIDS retail policies.
- Help build store schedules that ensure proper coverage while staying within wage-control guidelines.
- Manage inventory accurately by receiving, transferring, processing price changes, and completing product counts.
- Keep records and documentation in line with LIDS policies and applicable state and federal laws.
- Open and close the store when required, following the Operations P&P Manual.
- Follow all LIDS policies, procedures, and standards.
Team leadership
- Take part in LIDS training programs and follow assigned sales and task goals with regular check-ins.
- Support hiring and onboarding/training of store employees on procedures and day-to-day operations.
- Promote compliance with company rules, including the care of inventory, cash, and property.
- Step in to perform subordinate duties when needed.
- Communicate professionally with employees across all levels of the business.
- Handle other tasks as assigned.
Required knowledge and abilities
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential, plus 1 year of related experience.
- Proven ability to drive sales while keeping losses low.
- Strong people skills and clear, professional verbal communication.
- Comfort using a computer and standard software applications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to climb ladders and work with arms overhead.
- Standing for up to 100% of the shift is required.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
