This role offers the chance to substantially transform the business trust landscape and significantly improve auditors' work-life balance by automating up to half of their routine efforts.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and manage key portions of the monthly close process, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, accrual calculations, variance analyses, and financial report generation.
- Oversee accounting for revenue, accounts receivable, payroll, commissions, operating expenses, prepaid items, and fixed assets.
- Analyze contracts and business operations to determine relevant accounting treatment and resolve related issues.
- Optimize and maintain accounting workflows using tools such as Rillet and other finance technologies.
- Develop streamlined processes and internal controls that enhance data accuracy without causing unnecessary complexity.
- Leverage AI and automation solutions to reduce manual effort and accelerate the closing cycle.
- Collaborate closely with Strategic Finance and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial transactions and timely issue resolution.
- Aid in annual audits, tax return preparation, and compliance activities.
- Take charge of new accounting projects aligned with company growth and evolving products.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum five years of advancing experience in accounting, preferably including exposure to fast-growing startups or SaaS companies.
- In-depth familiarity with U.S. GAAP standards and demonstrated ability managing monthly financial closes.
- Practical knowledge of revenue recognition and accounting challenges typical of subscription-based software models.
- Proven competence in independently researching complex issues, forming conclusions, and driving resolutions.
- Strong analytical thinking with the aptitude to identify inconsistencies in processes or financial outcomes.
- Comfortable working in environments where accounting policies or procedures may be newly established or evolving.
- Experience incorporating AI tools in daily accounting functions and curiosity about their potential benefits.
- Effective communicator able to collaborate productively across diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Rillet software.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or background in public accounting.
- History of enhancing or automating accounting processes within scaling organizations.

Compensation Details
The salary range for this position is between $140,000 and $165,000 annually.
