Role Overview
The Accounting Manager for our Qatar operations will oversee all financial and accounting functions including financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, cash flow management, internal controls, and financial performance analysis. This role supports strategic management decisions and ensures compliance with local regulations, IFRS standards, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting activities such as General Ledger, Accounts Receivable/Payable, Fixed Assets, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements following IFRS and group guidelines.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Coordinate external audits and maintain communication with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and authorities.
- Conduct variance analysis as required.
- Oversee company cash flow and working capital management.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, corporate governance, and financial policies.
- Analyze financial results and suggest improvements to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
- Generate management reports, KPIs, and dashboards for leadership review.
- Review payroll accounting for accuracy in employee-related financial records.
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members fostering ongoing process improvements.
- Collaborate across functions including operations, procurement, sales, and HR to ensure financial accuracy.
- Support regional finance projects including ERP upgrades and automation efforts.
- Follow all safety procedures while carrying out day-to-day responsibilities.
- Handle confidential data discreetly and securely, sharing only with authorized personnel.
- Perform additional duties or special assignments as requested by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Prior exposure to manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, engineering, or multinational environments is advantageous.
- Strong expertise in IFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Knowledge of Qatar tax rules is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems like Sage, SAP, Oracle, or equivalents.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal competencies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
- Fluent English required; Arabic or additional languages beneficial.
