About Mastercard and Role Overview
Mastercard operates globally across more than 200 countries and territories, empowering individuals and economies through providing secure, simple, and innovative digital payment solutions. The Advisors & Consulting Services within Mastercard utilize a fusion of traditional consulting expertise with Mastercard's extensive data, proprietary platforms, and technologies to deliver insightful strategic advice to clients spanning various industries such as banking, payments, retail, and restaurants. The group includes five focus areas: Strategy & Transformation, Performance Analytics, Business Experimentation, Marketing, and Program Management. Our Performance Analytics consultants utilize qualitative and quantitative methods, enterprise applications, and both Mastercard and client data to develop impactful analytical solutions and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee deliverable creation and workstreams on projects across diverse industries and problem domains.
- Design and contribute to analytics strategies and programs for regional and global clients by leveraging data and technology to create client value.
- Apply a broad spectrum of analytical techniques to pinpoint client challenges and convert analysis into clear recommendations.
- Manage client relationships as a trusted partner, collaborating closely with client managers.
- Develop substantial business recommendations and deliver persuasive client presentations.
- Organize and structure own tasks and coordinate junior consultants to ensure effective problem-solving and analysis synthesis.
- Lead team meetings and project management efforts, supporting intellectual capital and solution development within the firm.
- Mentor junior project consultants and foster ownership of day-to-day project responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Economics.
- Demonstrated experience managing client or internal stakeholder relationships.
- Hands-on involvement in delivering data science or analytics projects, including machine learning, clustering, and business intelligence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with capacity to analyze large datasets and derive key insights.
- Proficiency with data analytics tools like Python, R, SQL, SAS and visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience constructing and maintaining database structures to support analytic activities.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to juggle multiple client projects in a dynamic, deadline-driven setting.
- Effective communication skills in English and relevant local languages, plus work eligibility in the country of application and ability to obtain travel visas as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior consulting experience or comparable business management expertise with financial institutions or fintech companies.
- Experience managing workstreams collaboratively and coaching junior consultants.
- Additional data engineering experience, including Hadoop, Impala, Hive, or PySpark coding.
- Relevant industry knowledge aligned with financial services and payments.
- Advanced degree focusing on analytics, big data, mathematics, or statistics disciplines.
Corporate Security Obligations
- Adhere to Mastercard's security policies to safeguard organizational assets and networks.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of accessed information.
- Report any suspected security breaches or violations.
- Complete all required mandatory security training programs as per company guidelines.
