Bus Operations Manager

About the Role

An established government-owned entity in transport and infrastructure seeks a senior Bus Operations Manager to spearhead the transformation of bus services within a new operational framework. This leadership position demands oversight of operational launch, continuous collaboration with stakeholders, seamless passenger service delivery, and commitment to long-term operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide the transition and deployment of bus operations into a revamped organisational format.
• Design and roll out an improved operational model for bus services.
• Maintain uninterrupted bus services throughout the transitional phase.
• Engage with governmental bodies, internal teams, and external collaborators.
• Lead procurement and tendering processes relevant to upcoming bus operations.
• Supervise operational contracts and ensure vendor compliance.
• Adhere to transport laws, safety protocols, and environmental standards.
• Create operational KPIs, develop reporting mechanisms, and implement performance oversight strategies.
• Champion continuous service enhancement efforts to boost customer satisfaction.
• Compile and present comprehensive reports for executive leadership and key stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

• Academic qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Transport Planning, Operations Management, Engineering, or similar; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience: At least 15 years in bus operations or public transport sectors.
• Proven ability in managing extensive bus operations, service mobilisations, or transition projects.
• Deep understanding of public transit management, contract oversight, regulatory compliance, and performance monitoring.
• Prior experience with government transport agencies or large-scale public transport organizations highly advantageous.
• Outstanding leadership qualities complemented by effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Compensation
