Care Assistant

About the Role

Drumcooley, located in Bray, is a residential facility supporting two female residents with a 2:1 staffing ratio. The residents lead enriched lives, actively participating in their community. This role offers an opportunity to join a compassionate team dedicated to delivering high-quality, individualized care.

Work Details

The position is full-time and permanent on a contract basis. Working hours will vary and include day shifts, sleepovers, weekends, and periods considered unsociable.

Primary Duties

• Implement a person-centered care approach aligned with clients' preferences and objectives.
• Uphold and respect the dignity, privacy, and rights of those supported, fostering their ability to make choices.
• Encourage and support clients to explore new interests and develop meaningful roles within their communities.
• Ensure comprehensive wellbeing of clients, attending to health and personal care needs.
• Assist in teaching life skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and building clients' confidence.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must possess at least a Major QQI Level 5 healthcare qualification or a validated foreign equivalent.
• A deep passion for advocating and empowering the individuals supported.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Familiarity with HIQA standards and applicable legislation.
• Possession of a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities post-qualification is advantageous.
• Must have legal authorization to work in Ireland.
