About Guy's Assisted Conception Unit
Guy's Assisted Conception Unit (ACU), established in 1991, is among the UK's largest fertility clinics, offering extensive services such as assisted conception, diagnostic testing, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), and fertility preservation. The unit provides both NHS-funded and self-funded fertility treatments. The laboratory features advanced time-lapse incubator systems and state-of-the-art technology to maintain the highest standards of patient care. Operating seven days a week, the ACU supports patients undergoing funded treatments and receives national and international self-referrals.
Role Overview
We invite applications from highly motivated individuals to join our vibrant Embryology team. Candidates should be dedicated to delivering excellent patient care and laboratory standards. The role involves comprehensive training in routine andrology and embryology procedures, alongside contributions to the development and training of new laboratory staff members. Responsibilities also include undertaking various administrative, diagnostic, and support functions essential to maintaining superior service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Embryology team and the broader ACU to facilitate assisted conception treatments, diagnostic testing, PGT-M, PGT-SR, and fertility preservation processes.
- Support a seven-day service to maximize treatment effectiveness and offer optimal patient care options.
- Engage in the training and mentorship of new laboratory members to uphold team proficiency and service excellence.
- Undertake essential administrative and diagnostic tasks to ensure smooth unit operations.
Professional Development
The ACU is committed to fostering staff development through academic and hands-on training initiatives, including career advancement programmes, advanced embryology training, and embryo biopsy courses. This provides a unique opportunity to contribute notably to one of the UK's largest PGT programs. The role also offers scope to cultivate specialist skills and assume enriched responsibilities, paving the way for career progression within the unit.
