Job Overview
This role involves overseeing all instrumentation commissioning tasks on an offshore facility. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising commissioning activities to align with the project timeline and established procedures. Collaboration with Mechanical, Electrical, and Process commissioning teams is critical to ensure seamless handover and system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all instrumentation commissioning operations offshore.
- Develop and monitor commissioning schedules and tasks according to project plans and procedures.
- Oversee loop checks, functional testing, calibration, and startup of instrumentation and control systems.
- Communicate and coordinate with related commissioning teams to guarantee smooth integration.
- Review and approve commissioning documentation, including procedures, punch lists, and completion certificates (MC/RFC packages).
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with HSE standards and the technical requirements of Saipem and clients.
- Maintain daily reports on progress, technical issues, and punch-list status for the Commissioning Manager.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges during commissioning and startup phases.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Engineering or a technical diploma specializing in Instrumentation, Automation, Control Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 to 10 years of experience in instrumentation commissioning within the Oil & Gas sector, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Proven offshore commissioning expertise, preferably with EPC projects such as those led by Saipem.
- In-depth knowledge of instrumentation systems, control loops, DCS/ESD/F&G systems, and commissioning documentation.
- Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams.
- Current offshore survival/safety certification including BOSIET or equivalent, and medically fit for offshore assignments.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
- Availability to work on a 56 days offshore, 28 days onshore rotation schedule.
