Overview

Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada is seeking a dedicated Controller to join their team onsite in Henderson, Nevada, requiring presence at least four days per week. The Controller plays a pivotal role collaborating closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Practice President within one of Southern Nevada's largest oncology practices. This position is critical for steering financial operations and fostering business growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee systems ensuring adherence to company and practice agreements, including Management Services Agreements.
• Maintain compliance with accounting, revenue cycle policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Supervise revenue cycle operations and reconcile crucial accounts such as accounts receivable, cash clearing, credit balances, reserves related to contracts, bad debt, and denials.
• Provide comprehensive financial reports to executive leadership and physicians.
• Present financial statements at physician and board meetings.
• Serve as the financial liaison with the U.S. Oncology Network.
• Support managers, practice administration, and physicians in utilizing financial data to promote cost-effective healthcare delivery.
• Ensure financial data integration in information systems for reporting to payers, management, and regulatory sources.
• Meet fiscal deadlines and provide required data promptly.
• Establish and enforce internal controls on assets/resources; develop and author financial policies and procedures.
• Lead budgeting, site and practice cost accounting, and special projects.
• Create and manage annual budgets across all operational units.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, focusing on performance, succession planning, and career growth.
• Oversee budgets related to operations, capital, and cash flow ensuring expenditure control within budget limits and contractual agreements.
• Analyze proposed contracts for financial risks and impacts; audit contracts, orders, and vouchers prior to processing.
• Coordinate external audits and maintain accurate bookkeeping including general ledger, accounts receivable, payable, and payroll systems.
• Manage payroll functions and related reporting; oversee proper handling of all center funds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 7 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Preferred experience includes 3 years in public accounting.
• Healthcare industry experience is advantageous.
• Certifications such as CPA or CMPE preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires prolonged sitting with some bending and stretching.
• Must have adequate finger dexterity for keyboard use and repetitive wrist/hands motion.
• Corrected vision and hearing within normal limits required for screen and printed material viewing.
• Occasional lifting of items up to 30 pounds.
